In the lead-up to DrupalCamp NYC9, I mentioned the idea of creating a materials exchange site, similar (but superior) to http://www.wastematch.org.
I'm still interested in doing this. It seems like a very manageable proposition, and has the potential to foster connection with the city & promote FOSS use in municipal government.
Is anyone interested in participating? I'm in the middle of collecting organizations that may be able to co-sponsor or somehow assist, e.g. Build it Green (http://www.bignyc.org), LES Ecology Center (http://www.lesecologycenter.org/), etc.
Obviously this could be a local face/face project, or long-distance, whatever's clever.
