As part of the last phase of the Knight News Challenge grant I've been working to create a module to automate transfers to Archive.org of files available to Drupal. The development release is now ready, and we're continuing to test it here at Denver Open Media. My thanks go out to John Hauser at Access Humboldt, and the team at Archive.org who helped me navigate the S3-like interface and provided invaluable feedback in regards to handling metadata.

More details on the module and its current capabilities are on the project page: Internet Archive

At the moment, transfers of files and metadata and working consistently at Denver Open Media -- but we're running into challenges regarding the quality/consistency of the metadata in our archive (about 4000 shows at this point). Many of our older files are missing a creative commons license, pbcore genre, audience, etc. We're tackling this by creating a view that only lists shows that have all of our 'required' fields, and using that to populate the automated transfer queue this week, then as our station director works with our interns to update the rest of the shows they get automatically picked up by the view.

Working with the Archive.org team, two new collections have also been created. One for the Open Media Project here: http://www.archive.org/details/openmediaproject, and then a subproject of that for Denver Open Media here: http://www.archive.org/details/denveropenmedia.
