Greetings all,
A friend and I are trying to get started building web sites for
friends and family using Drupal 7. Both of us are IT professionals who
have coded and done RDBMS, system and network admin, but there is
quite a bit to learn to get up to speed with Drupal. So, we were
wondering if anyone in the SD DUG would be interested in giving us a
hands-on tutorial of Drupal 7 to help us get up the learning curve
more quickly. We would like to grok Drupal and really learn to build
web sites using Drupal best practices right from the start.
More specifically, we are interested in security best practices, site
management and upgrading using version control, managing multiple
sites/domains in 1 install, how to automate everything relating to
site management, how to best use essential modules like views and
panels, when and how to best create content types, how to create image
galleries, and e-commerce best practices.
We are looking to do this over a few weekend days. If you are
interested in helping us, please send an email to drupal@kroel.com
with your qualifications, rates and availability.
Thanks!
Ken
p.s. I did find some posts on the group forum
(http://groups.drupal.org/node/143829) about the possibility of local
clinics. We would be very interested in attending 1 or more of these,
but I was unable to find any upcoming clinics on the group's web site.
