Hi,
I understand there is a Pasadena Drupal meetup at the beginning of every month. I heard a few concerns about running out of space. I will venture out and see what I can do about my Caltech contacts. But in the meantime, I write to suggest my favorite cafe, which is a 1-minute walk away from the original Pasadena meetup location.
'Cafe Alibi' is a Korean American cafe situated just a couple minutes walking distance from the Cheesecake Factory in Old Town, Pasadena. The cross streets are Fair Oaks and Green- you will see a quaint little park at this location, with tons of metered street parking. (Free parking starts at 7 or 8, I believe). They are open till 9ish each night, but the owners are great, and I am certain there will be absolutely no problem extending hours if requested.
In addition, there's a pleasant outdoor patio which would easily fit twenty + people.
My favorite dish from them: Bulgogi Salad (bulgogi is a mildly sweet Korean beef),
They also serve delicious sandwiches, panini's, salads, etc. Haha, no I am not getting paid to say this, in fact, the cafe has absolutely no idea I am writing this (although I've asked a few days ago, and they told me they would be happy to host a meetup). Cafe Alibi is just a small mom-and-pop cafe trying to make it, and I rarely see many patrons inside.
This is where I've also enjoyed a Sweet Potato Latte!
When I was in New York, there was a monthly Drupal 'Play Day'- a meetup where sessions or presentations did not take place in a formal manner- rather, people would team up in small groups of two or three and learn that way. I'm open to something of this nature, also.
I would like to have this meetup this coming Monday... any thoughts?
