Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for building a next-generation multilingual web platform using Drupal CMS, from the development phase to the final product. Other requirements include the ability to support the maintenance, development, and enhancement of existing websites (non-Drupal).

Responsibilities
- Designing, writing, developing and implementing new applications for the Drupal platform.
- Developing applications to integrate existing and new Internet technologies and services.
- Performing upgrades to Drupal and related modules; Drupal platform maintenance
- Developing upgrade paths for Drupal, database structure and third party and custom modules.
- Quality assurance, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing websites
- Update and maintain existing, non-Drupal, web applications
- Implement industry best practices and stay up to date on emerging trends in order to implement these when appropriate
- Create work estimates and time-frames for development tasks
Requirements
- Minimum one year of full-time Drupal programming experience (samples of enterprise-level applications are required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in web development (PHP, MySQL and web applications)
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science or a related field
- Experienced with custom Drupal module development, key contributed modules and the core API
- Have a well-rounded knowledge of Drupal-adjunct technologies such as the LAMP platform, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery/JavaScript, XML, JSON, AJAX, web services
- Object-oriented design and programming practices
- Proficient in SQL, relational databases and MySQL; experience with tools like phpMyAdmin and the MySql CLI
- Experience in the maintenance and administration of Drupal modules and sites
- Thorough understanding and proven implementation of W3C Web Standards
- Experience integrating open source and third party applications into existing systems
- Must be detailed oriented and customer focused
- Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
Desirable
- Involvement in and contributions to the Drupal community
- Experience working with Drupal on a multilingual site
- Experience in Unix / Linux administration, Content Delivery Networks (Akamai, RackSpace Cloud Computing)
- Experience with jQuery / jQuery Mobile / jSON / AJAX
- Experience with PHP frameworks (i.e. CodeIgniter)
- Familiarity with revision control systems such as Subversion, Git or Perforce
