Drupal is Coming back to Boise

Start:
2011-05-18 06:30 - 08:30 America/Boise
User group meeting
Organizers:

I think that we have been getting to relaxed when it comes to spreading the good open source awesomeness that is Drupal, here in the Boise area. I understand that people are out of work, and that others have too much (and just barely enough to pay the bills). However, being involved is key to growth, and if we want to remain dormant as Drupal users, then the tech in boise is always going to be stronger for languages and software platforms.

I would rather get asked to do some work for an aging drupal site, than to do work on an aging .net or .asp application, or some other random cms that is a pain to get the data out of. But that's the work we will be involved with, or we will lose customers to people believing that because their previous software is built on one language, it shouldn't be redone in another. How awesome would it be if people were telling .net developers that they like how functional and scalable and free their drupal-ware is, and they don't want to switch to a proprietary system!

Let's some free time to help put the word out. Lets get some tech geeks interested, and down to our awesome fun meetings.

So far the monthly date is the same.

Let's all decide to participate in helping one another to move forward. Dedicating 15-20 minutes of group time to help someone who may be stuck each week will go a long way to strengthening our community!

Meet and greet: first 15 min.
Meeting topic and presentation: 20 min.
Planning for the next meetup: 5 min.
Helping a someone who is stuck: 15-20.
Improve Drupal.org / work on a module for the community: 20-30min.

Any feedback would be awesome.
