Description

The University of California, Berkeley (UCB), is one of the preeminent public universities in the country, and is one of the leading employers in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are currently seeking a Drupal 6 developer / designer to join our IST-Data Services team for an exciting new project that will implement a campus-wide technology catalog. This catalog will require single sign-on (CAS) authentication, but once authenticated will be fully community-sourced by the UCB community. It will house descriptive and definitional information about technologies used at UCB, ratings and reviews of these technologies, and other yet-to-be-identified resources that would serve the UCB community. The application will need to serve the entire campus community regardless of technical knowledge and will need to be as simple and intuitive as possible while offering strong, under-the-hood architectural organization to optimize searching, browsing, and views for highly disparate audiences. This project is sponsored by the Deputy CIO. The developer would work under the supervision of a project manager in the Data Services department and will follow an agile project management approach. The project will have an associated advisory group from which ongoing decisions will be made throughout design, prototyping, and releases.
