I've been using Drupal for a number of years on a wide range of projects. In the beginning, as most would agree, it is a painful and frustrating learning experience and I think during that time many people still run for the hills for an "easier" CMS system. If you stick with it you will most likely find the Drupal system a joy to work with for many different types of projects.
I am curious how other Long Islander Drupalers are using the system and to what capacity? My current interests are how it can be used as more of an application development framework to deliver web applications following a RAD approach. I believe that with the power of the Field API (aka CCK) and Views we can achieve what Microsoft Access has been providing many businesses on the desktop for years.
How do you use Drupal? Is there a particular use case that draws you towards implementing it for you and your clients. And maybe even more interesting when do you NOT gravitate toward the Drupal system for a particular project?
As a side note I am glad to see we currently have 9 members in a little over a week! I am still going to cross post this to the NYC group as I am sure there are some LI people that did not see this group yet... :)
Thanks.
