Overview – Extend functionalities of and add new features to Media module.
Description - This project will contribute to the on going development of Media (http://drupal.org/project/media) module and extend its functionalities further. They very first goal will be to provide a UI for browsing folder on server. The second crucial addition will be to provide a permission structure. Support for Views module, audio and other file document types will some other extensions to this module. Also, development of an inline media editor (which will provide manipulations such as cropping) will be done. This project is for Drupal 7.
Timeline -
May 23 - 28 - Get familar with Drupal 7 API and Git practices etc
June 28 - 14 - Develop an advanced folder browser with some features such as filter according to tags.
June 14 - July 11 - Develop a permission model for the module.
July 11 - Midterm submission: Functional folder browser.
July 16 - July 23 - Integration with WYSIWYG module.
July 23 - August 3 - Support for audio and other file types.
August 3 - August 15 - Develop an inline media editor.
August 15 - August 22 - Final Report submission.
