Minyanville Media, Inc. (MMI) is an Emmy Award winning content and community platform that creates branded business content that informs, entertains and educates all generations about the worlds of business and finance. We are in the process of major technology initiatives in 2011 and are looking to add another talented member to our team to help lead those efforts.

You should be the go-to person among your current coworkers or peers to solve the big problems. You should have no issues with learning new technologies quickly, designing new systems, understanding our existing codebase, and making them all work together seamlessly during our transition to a new platform.
The job is based in our New York City headquarters on Park Avenue and our compensation package is competitive.
Responsibilities
• Learn and maintain the existing codebase of Minyanville.com and work with current offshore resources as needed
• Take the lead on all significant, time-sensitive projects, especially those for our advertisers
• Have a primary focus on designing, prototyping and building the next generation architecture for our subscription products, feed products, and eventually all of Minyanville.com
• Leverage existing open source platforms such as Drupal and WordPress to shorten the timeline for development and create a more standardized environment
Requirements
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years experience working in web development
• Strong PHP experience
• Strong Javascript experience, preferably with jQuery
• Experience with relational databases, preferably MySQL
• Experience working with a Linux server environment
• Experience with performance and scalability is preferred
• Strong practical experience with Drupal and/or Wordpress is also preferred
