DLC Solutions is seeking a Front-end Developer and UX Lead to join our team working on EthosCE, a Drupal-based learning management system for continuing professional education. We are experiencing solid demand for our product and need additional help with product development and client implementations.
Job duties include creating and implementing client sub themes into our application, working with the development team to design and improve the user experience for new and existing features, and working with clients and end-users to collect feedback and implement improvements. We would also ideally like to contribute our base themes back to the Drupal community, so an interest in community involvement is also a plus.
You will be the user experience lead for our flagship product and this part of the role is new to our company. We are looking for someone who has the leadership skills to help integrate a strong focus on UX into our agile-based process. We welcome innovation and process improvements in our group and regularly think about how to make the development process work better.
This is not a design role, but someone with a strong design aptitude would be highly preferred.
A strong applicant would have experience working in a collaborative web development group and be willing to participate in the challenge of maturing a product at a small, growing company.
Applicants should have at least 2-4 years of professional experience.
Responsibilities include:
- implementing client designs and other front-end development tasks using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in Drupal
- converting PSD comps into HTML/CSS files
- working with clients to elicit requirements
- creating sketches, wireframes and prototypes
- designing and running low-overhead usibility tests
Ideal requirements
- experience with Drupal theming
- experience with front-end technologies such as jQuery and HTML5
- experience with Photoshop, Illustrator or similar tools
- experience with front-end performance optimization
- experience with and knowledge of current UX techniques
We will consider promising applicants with no Drupal experience if you can show demonstrable history of success in other projects.
