Florida Hospital MIS, in Orlando, FL is looking for a motivated and talented individual to fill a Web Developer position on the Intranet & Small Business Applications Team. The Intranet/SBA team has three primary responsibilities: 1) Develop for and continually enhance the organization’s main Drupal-based Intranet site and related department sites. 2) Develop custom .NET and Drupal-based web applications to provide targeted solutions for a wide variety of business needs on both the department and enterprise level. 3) Provide oversight and support of several 3rd party business applications.
An ideal candidate for this position will possess an array of web & software development skills that can be leveraged to solve a variety of customer needs.
A considered candidate will have the following qualities:
- A degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field, or comparable experience.
- Proven skill in web-centric programming languages, such as PHP or ASP.NET
- Proficiency in web development technologies (HTML, JavaScript/jQuery, CSS) and general web administration tasks (IIS, Apache).
- Familiarity with database creation, administration, and query languages (ex.. MSSQL / MySQL).
- Enjoys researching, creating and implementing solutions to a wide-variety of technical and business challenges.
- Strong creativity, problem-solving, independent learning, interpersonal, communication, and team skills.
A preferred candidate will have one or more of the following:
- Proven development experience in Drupal or other CMS platform, and in extending existing frameworks with community and/or custom code.
- Understands UI/UX concepts and can translate design comps into code and/or a site theme.
- An awareness of current web trends, culture, and technologies.

We are a small, tight-knit team that has the privilege of working directly with our internal customers to define, develop, and deploy custom applications and web sites. We are part of a much larger MIS department with 400+ team members serving 16,000+ employees across 8 campuses. Currently, we have 130+ Drupal-based department sites and applications running in both a multi-site and single-site configurations, as well as 20+ custom-developed ASP.NET web applications. Our work touches just about every aspect of the organization from internal communications to retail, clinical to HR. Our main Intranet page receives over 9,000 daily page-loads.
